How Does WhatsApp Send Messages When You Were Offline?
Have you ever typed a message, turned off your internet, and still seen it get delivered automatically when your internet came back?
It feels like magic.
But the trick is actually very simple.
When you send a message on WhatsApp without internet, the message is not immediately sent to your friend.
Instead, WhatsApp saves the message on your phone temporarily.
You can think of it like placing a letter in an outbox.
The message waits there until your phone gets internet access again.
As soon as your phone reconnects, WhatsApp notices the connection and starts sending all waiting messages to its servers.
The server then forwards those messages to the receiver.
That is why you often see a small clock icon next to a message when you are offline.
The clock means:
"I am waiting to be sent."
Once WhatsApp successfully sends it to the server, you see one tick.
So the next time your internet disappears, don't worry.
Your messages are simply standing in a queue, waiting for their turn to leave.
